PAGCOR Allocates Php60M for Bulacan Scholarships

PAGCOR’s Commitment to Educational Support

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has pledged Php60 million to provide scholarships to 2,000 students from underprivileged families in Bulacan. An initial disbursement of Php10 million was made to the provincial government on July 6 as part of the Ayudang Hatid ay Tagumpay (AHT) Scholarship Program.

Breakdown of the Scholarship Fund

Out of the total Php60 million, Php40 million is allocated for 1,000 college freshmen pursuing four-year degrees, while Php20 million is designated for students engaging in technical-vocational education. This initiative aims to facilitate access to educational opportunities for deserving Bulakenyo youth.

PAGCOR’s Broader Social Role

PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco highlighted that this program exemplifies how gaming revenue is used for projects that directly benefit Philippine citizens. Governor Daniel Fernando expressed gratitude for PAGCOR’s ongoing support, emphasizing the positive impact on students’ educational pursuits.

Bawat Buhay Mahalaga Caravan Initiative

This scholarship is part of the broader Bawat Buhay Mahalaga Caravan, a government initiative to bring essential services closer to communities, focusing on enhancing educational access and opportunities.
