Immediate Relief Efforts Launched
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has initiated swift relief measures following a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Mindanao. The organization is delivering approximately 10,500 food packs to the regions most affected, offering crucial support to families in distress.
Strategic Distribution Across Regions
Distribution efforts are focused on areas including General Santos City, Mati City in Davao Oriental, the Office of Civil Defense in Region XII, and the 2nd District of Davao Oriental. General Santos City, Mati City, and OCD – Region XII will each receive 3,000 food packs, while 1,500 packs are designated for Davao Oriental’s 2nd District via Rep. Cheeno Almario’s office.
Impact of the Earthquake
Triggered offshore near Maasim, Sarangani, the earthquake has impacted over 173,000 families, with General Santos City experiencing Intensity VII tremors. The aftermath includes significant loss and ongoing challenges for the affected communities.

PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco emphasized the agency’s dedication to crisis response, aiming to aid recovery and return to normalcy for the affected individuals.
