Pennsylvania Online Gambling Tops Casino Floors in Record Year

Record-Breaking Online Gambling Revenue

Pennsylvania’s online gambling sector outstripped traditional casino floors, achieving a significant milestone during Fiscal Year 2025/26. Revenue from online operations, including iGaming and sports betting, surpassed $3.60 billion, which equated to over half of the state’s total regulated gaming income, in contrast to retail’s $3.35 billion.

iGaming: The Main Driver of Growth

The surge in iGaming was pivotal, with revenues soaring by 18.4% to reach an impressive $2.93 billion. This boom marked Pennsylvania as the preeminent online casino market in the U.S. Key players such as Hollywood Casino and Valley Forge Casino led the expansion, while others like Harrah’s Philadelphia showed impressive growth rates.

Sports Betting Shows Strong Performance

Despite a slight dip in overall bets, sports betting revenue climbed significantly by 35.9% to $662.90 million. This growth was led by Valley Forge Casino’s robust results, even as questions around prediction markets began influencing industry speculation.

Stable Retail Casino Revenue

Contrasting with digital growth, Pennsylvania’s retail casino revenues showed minimal change. Slot machine revenues remained stable, while table games revenue continued its downward trend. This stability underscores the shift towards online platforms for future growth in the state.

Future Prospects for Pennsylvania’s Gaming Market

As digital platforms take precedence, Pennsylvania’s gaming industry seems poised for continued online growth. With online gambling generating over half of the state’s gaming revenue, the focus is likely to remain on expanding digital offerings and addressing emerging challenges within the sector.
