Wynn Macau Expands Marketing Efforts
On June 30th, Wynn Macau and its subsidiary Wynn Resorts (Macau) S.A. entered into new contracts with Wynn Marketing (Portugal) for resort marketing services. This strategic move introduces an additional related party for international promotion and staff secondment while maintaining the group’s annual financial cap through 2026. The cap remains at HK$167.6 million ($21.5 million), covering both new and existing service agreements with Wynn entities.
Details of the Strategic Agreement
Under the terms of the new agreements, Wynn Marketing (Portugal) will directly provide international marketing services, supported by authorized agents. The focus will be on creating and managing a comprehensive international promotional strategy for Wynn’s casino resort properties.
Staff Secondment Arrangements
A key element of the deal includes secondment arrangements for Foreign Resident Staff. These individuals, who are based or will be based in Macau, will be sourced through Wynn Marketing (Portugal). This arrangement ensures necessary staffing while managing costs efficiently, an important consideration given Macau hotels expect 90% occupancy with a summer boost.
Financial Terms and Reimbursements
Wynn Marketing (Portugal) will receive reimbursements for secondment-related costs, including salaries and benefits. Additionally, the firm will earn a 5 percent service fee on top of aggregate marketing expenses. This financial strategy aligns with other industry trends, such as Sands China’s initiatives to enhance team wellness.
Continuing Connected Transactions
Wynn Macau stated that these new agreements are categorized as continuing connected transactions. This is due to Wynn Marketing (Portugal) being fully owned by Wynn Resorts Limited, the major shareholder in Wynn Macau.
