Monthly GGR Forecast
Macau’s gaming revenue in July is anticipated to drop by 7 to 9 percent compared to last year, influenced by the World Cup. However, gradual growth is expected to resume in late 2026, with Seaport Research predicting a 5 percent rise in August.
Quarterly and Annual Projections
For the third quarter, a 2 percent increase in gross gaming revenue is projected, with a 4 percent rise in the fourth quarter. By the end of 2026, annual growth may reach 4.8 percent, potentially accelerating to 6.5 percent by 2027.
Impact of Visitor Trends
Analyst Vitaly Umansky notes that July’s average daily gaming revenue could be around MOP658 million, up 6 percent from the previous month. The World Cup has impacted visitation, with June figures lower than expected, dropping 11.9 percent year-on-year.
Challenges in Profitability
Macau’s operators face margin pressures, as player reinvestment and agent commissions remain high. Despite expectations of reduced cost increases in 2026, profitability continues to be challenged.
Singapore’s Market Dynamics
In contrast, Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands maintains its position as a leading gaming destination. Seaport highlights potential risks from cryptocurrency and regulatory changes, which may affect revenue streams.
